About
Our Mission at Three Hearts Wellness is to provide a unique approach to Health and Wellness services, aimed at connecting all aspects of Mind, Body and Spirit. We believe a truly Functional and Holistic approach to wellness can be achieved simply and with feedback in the decision-making process from the patient themselves, following the tenants of a Naturopathic Practice approach to healing and wellbeing.
Hello! I’m Evan
Reiki Level II Practitioner, Integrated Wellness Practitioner, Men’s Life Coach
My background includes being exposed to a very wide range of health and wellness practices along my life’s journey. Yogi, Reiki Practitioner, Fitness instructor and coach, diet and nutrition coach, are all titles I’ve worn before and I have been a client to Naturopaths, Energy Workers and healers, Qi-Gong and Tai-Chi teachers, Herbalists, numerous Yoga and Reiki masters. Having always been a student of Engineering, Math and Science, I fully believe in the Scientific Method – observe, research, hypothesis, test, analyze data, report conclusions – and have used that to help myself and others along their path to complete Health and Wellness.
My Approach & Values
I feature an approach strongly following the tenants of Holistic treatment and Naturopathy in my practice.
The word holistic comes from the Greek word holos, meaning “entire” or “all.” Rather than some far-out or weird definition, holistic treatment simply means treating the entire person.
- Illness is seen as an imbalance in the energy spheres of our emotional, rational, spiritual, physical, and social selves.
- Healing is concerned with the individual balancing of these energies.
My Education & Experience
I am a Certified level II Reiki practitioner, of the Usui/Tibetan Reiki Lineage, working towards my Master level. I am completing my formal NLP Practioner Certification. Too many other trainings and teachings, formal and informal, to list.
First and foremost l am a compassionate and gifted teacher and student, constantly learning to incorporate health, energy and healing modalities into my “toolbox” for myself and my practice.
Career-wise I have worked every job from the shop floor to the board room. Put myself through college by joining the Army National Guard in High School. Studied Engineering and business, I tutored Calculus and Philosophy in the same semester.
Son, Brother, Father, Husband – these are also titles I have worn at various times in my life. I have always had strong female influences, and learned to balance both my Yin and Yang energies throughout my life. Sometimes as purely coping mechanisms to overcome obstacles and hardships, and others as purposeful and intentional means to harness both energies for purely positive development on all levels of Mind, Body and Spirit.
Having worked with several men’s groups and programs, along with traditional forms of therapy, counseling, and the various healing and wellness modalities mentioned previously, I bring a unique perspective to Men’s Work that has evolved from many years of research, study, observation and practice.
Naturopathy and Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathy and Naturopathic Medicine is the fastest-growing of all alternative healing disciplines. It has gained new respect outside of conventional medicine or as an adjunct to conventional medicine. Naturopathy is a system of alternative medicine treating the whole person without the use of drugs, by empirical techniques that encourage an individual’s inherent self-healing process. Naturopathic medicine is a preventative approach rather than an interventional approach.
6 Principles of Naturopathic Medicine
Do No Harm
A naturopathic treatment plan favors non-invasive but effective methods, with the goal of little to no adverse side effects.
The Healing Power of Nature
Recognize the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.
Identify and Treat the Causes
Identify, address and remove the underlying causes of disease.
Doctor as Teacher
The Latin root of doctor is docere meaning “to teach.” The primary role of the naturopathic practitioner is to educate, empower and inspire patients to take actions that support good health.
Treat the Whole Person
Naturopathy focuses on treating the patient first versus the disease or symptom. Treatments are tailored to the individual’s symptom profile taking all aspects of the patient into account.
Prevention
Naturopathy seeks to uncover patterns or vulnerabilities and work with patients on the lifestyle, nutritional or other changes to stave off disease.
